Replacing the R30 and R31, the R32-generation of the Nissan Skyline was introduced in 1989. While sedans and coupes remained - some with staid four cylinder engines - this generation is best known as the return of the GT-R nameplate. The R32 GT-R paired a twin-turbocharged 2.6-liter RB26DETT six cylinder with all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering. Producing at least 276hp, the R32 quickly became known as "Godzilla" - the monster from Japan. Other notable variants included the GTS, GTS-25, and GTS-t. Although production of the standard R32 Skyline ended in 1993, the R32 GT-R was built until 1994. The next generation of Nissan Skyline, the R33 Nissan Skyline, was introduced in 1993.
