The Nash Motors Company was an American automotive manufacturer founded in 1916. Nash was named after its founder, Charles W. Nash, and was founded when Nash took control of the Thomas B. Jeffrey Company and renamed it. Early Nash models included the notable Six, and Advanced Eight models, while the top of the line Ambassador also earned plaudits. Later successful models such as the Metropolitan and Nash-Healey helped cement the company's legacy. In 1954, Nash merged with Hudson and created the American Motors Corporation, who continued to produce cars under the Nash and Hudson names until 1957.
