The Evolution VIII was the eighth iteration of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Introduced in 2003, the Evolution VIII was the first Lancer Evolution to be sold in the United States, although US market versions are less powerful and capable than Japanese spec examples. As was standard for Evolution models, the Evo VIII was an all wheel drive sedan powered by a 2.0L turbocharged inline four engine. A range of variants such as the RS, GSR, and MR were offered for the Evo VIII, which was in production until 2005. The Evolution VIII was replaced by the Mitsubishi Evolution IX.
