The Evolution VI was the sixth iteration of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The Evo VI was introduced in 1999 and was offered as a performance focused all wheel drive sedan. Like its predecessors, the Evo VI was fitted with a turbocharged 2.0L inline four engine producing 276hp. Three main variants were offered: Evo VI RS, Evo 6 GSR, and the Tommi Mäkinen Edition. The Evolution VI was the last of the Lancer Evolution cars to be used as the basis for a World Rally Championship entry, making the Evo VI the best of the breed in the eyes of many enthusiasts. Production of the Evolution VI ended in 2001, when the Mitsubishi Evolution VII was introduced.
