The TF 1500 built upon the 1250cc engine of the predecessor, the MG TF, but with bored-out cylinders displacing 1466cc - thus the 1500 badge. This XPEG engine yielded 63hp and 76 lb/ft of torque - a worthy increase over the smaller engine. The TF 1500, the last of T-Type series, was replaced by the MGA.
