B. F. Meyers & Company, more commonly known as Meyers, is an American automotive manufacturer. This small company is most well known for developing the Meyers Manx, which is credited as being the first fiberglass dune buggy. Introduced in 1964, these widely popular cars were sold as kit cars that were built using a Volkswagen Beetle platform. Although very popular, legal issues relating to the Manx's patent saw the company lose exclusivity over their design. This was a major factor in B.F. Meyers & Co. closing its doors in 1971 due to financial difficulties. Although the Manx is the most well known Meyers model, other offerings such as the Tow'd, SR, and Kick-Out were also built.
