The Mercedes-Benz SL350 was a variant of the R230 SL-Class. Introduced for the 2002 model year, the SL 350 was initially powered by Mercedes' M112 engine, which was a 3.7L V6 unit that generated 242hp. For the 2007 model year, this engine was replaced by the M272 engine, which was a 3.5L V6 generating 268hp. Both engines were paired to an automatic transmission (5 speed for M112, 7 speed for M272), sending drive to the rear wheels. Production of the R230 Mercedes-Benz SL350 ended in 2011, although the model series continued as part of the next generation R231 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.
