The Mercedes-Benz 380SLC was a variant of the R107/C107 SL-Class that was introduced in 1980. The 380SLC was offered in a two door coupe body style, and was not available in North America. These cars featured a naturally aspirated 3.8L V8 engine that was paired to an automatic transmission to send power to the rear wheels. North American versions of the 380SLC had significantly less power than European counterparts due to strict emissions regulations. European cars had an output of 215hp, while North American cars only generated 155hp. Production of the R107 380SLC ended in 1981 when Mercedes introduced their S-Class based C126 Coupes.
