With the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz C126 S-Class Coupe, famed Mercedes tuner AMG began releasing their own versions of the new coupe. AMG versions featured the name of the donor model, plus the displacement of the tuned engine. The most common variants were the 500SEC 5.4, the 500SEC 6.0, the 560SEC 5.6, and the 560SEC 6.0. These cars were built before AMG merged with Mercedes-Benz, and featured a range of tweaks to the body panels and bumpers leading to these cars being known as 'Wide Body.' These AMG-tuned coupes are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
