The Mercedes-Benz E430 was a variant of the W210 E-Class Sedan that debuted for the 1998 model year. The E 430 replaced the previous W210 Mercedes-Benz E420, and was fitted with Mercedes' new M113.940 engine. This 4.3L V8 had an output of 279hp and 295 lb ft of torque. This power drove the rear wheels via a 5 speed automatic transmission. An all wheel drive version of the E430 known as the W210 Mercedes-Benz E430 4MATIC was also offered. Production of the W210 Mercedes-Benz E430 ended in 2002, with 46,461 examples built.
