The Mercedes-Benz E320 was a popular variant of the W210 E-Class Sedan that debuted for the 1997 model year. Initially, the E 320 was fitted with Mercedes' M104.995 engine, which was a 220hp 3.2L inline six, but from the 1998 model year onwards, Mercedes used their new M112.941 unit. This new engine was a 3.2L V6 that had an output of 224hp and 232 lb ft of torque. Cars equipped with the inline six engine were available with a 4 or 5 speed automatic, while the V6 was paired to a 5 speed automatic. Regardless of transmission, drive was sent to the rear wheels. An all wheel drive version of the E320 known as the W210 Mercedes-Benz E320 4MATIC was also offered.The W210 Mercedes-Benz E320 saw 188,061 examples built before the end of production in 2003, when it was replaced by the next generation W211 Mercedes-Benz E320.
