The Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG was a performance focused variant of the C219 CLS-Class that debuted for the 2005 model year. The CLS 55 AMG featured a range of upgrades to the brakes, suspension, as well as a new AMG body kit, but the most notable upgrade was the AMG-tuned M113 E55 K engine. This 5.4L V8 engine was fitted with a supercharger and generated 476hp and 516 lb ft of torque which was sent to the rear wheels via a 5 speed automatic transmission. A total of 6,586 examples were built before production of the CLS55 AMG ended in 2006 and was replaced by the C219 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG.
