Known as the C218, the second generation of CLS-Class was introduced for the 2011 model year. Like the generation before it, the C218 was based on its concurrent E-Class model, the W212. The C218 was offered with either a V6 or a V8 engine, and featured a range of variants, including the CLS400, CLS400 4MATIC, CLS550, CLS550 4MATIC, CLS63 AMG, CLS63 AMG 4MATIC,  CLS63 AMG S and CLS63 AMG S 4MATIC. Mercedes replaced the C218 with the Third Generation C257 CLS-Class for 2019.
