The CLK500 was a variant of the Second Generation W209 Mercedes-Benz CLK that was introduced for the 2003 model year. This series of cars were available as Coupes or Convertibles, and were powered by Mercedes' M113 E50 engine. This 5.0L V8 engine generated 302hp, which was sent to the rear wheels via a 5 speed automatic transmission. Production of the CLK 500 ended in 2006, when the CLK received a facelift as well as new engines, replacing the CLK500 with the Mercedes-Benz CLK550.
