The second generation of the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class, known as the C215, was introduced for the 2000 model year. The C215 featured sleek, updated styling, as well as various performance improvements. The model's new Active Body Control allowed for better handling, giving the car a greater prowess on the road. Over the course of its production, the second generation CL was offered with V8 or V12 engines, and included variants such as the CL500, CL600, CL55 AMG, CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG. The C215 would be replaced by the third generation C216 CL-Class for the 2007 model year.
