The Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG was a high performance version of the C215 CL-Class that debuted for the 2001 model year.  The CL 55 AMG featured a raft of performance improvements and was originally fitted with Mercedes' M113 engine, which was a 355hp 5.4L V8. From the 2003 model year, this engine was upgraded with a supercharger, raising output to 493hp. Production of the Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG lasted until 2006, with a total of 6,380 examples built.
