The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG was a performance focused variant of the W204 C-Class that was introduced for the 2008 model year. The C 63 AMG was offered in Sedan, Coupe, and Wagon bodystyles, although the station wagon was never sold in North America. These AMG tuned cars were powered by Mercedes' M156 E62 KE engine. This naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 powerplant generated 451hp and 443 lb ft of torque, which was sent to the rear wheels via a 7 speed automatic transmission. Mercedes would also introduce a few special editions that were offered on a variety of body styles: P30 Performance Package (Sedan, Estate), P31 Development Package (Sedan, Estate), and the Edition 507 (Sedan, Estate, Coupe). In 2012, the company also debuted a hardcore performance version known as the C63 AMG Black Series. Production of the W204 C63 AMG ended in 2015, although the model series would continue life in the next generation W205 C-Class as the W205 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.
