The McLaren MP4-12C Spider was the convertible variant of the McLaren MP4-12C that debuted for the 2012 model year. The MP4-12C Spider, which was later known as the 12C Spider, was the first car designed and built entirely in house at McLaren. These cars were powered by a twin-turbo 3.8L V8 engine that sent 592hp to the rear wheels via a 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Production of the McLaren MP4-12C Spider ended in 2014, when the McLaren 650S was introduced.
