Lucid Motors is an American automotive manufacturer that specializes in building electric cars. Lucid was originally founded under the name Atieva, and had intended to focus on production of electric vehicle batteries and powertrains. In 2016, the company took on the name Lucid, and turned its focus to creating complete high-performance, all-electric luxury vehicles. The company's first vehicle, the Air, debuted for the 2022 model year, with power outputs ranging from 480hp in the base offering to 1000hp in top specification. An electric SUV known as the Gravity is in development with a targeted release date of 2023.
