The Lotus Cortina was a high performance sedan built by Lotus and based on the Ford Cortina. Introduced in 1963, the Lotus Cortina, also known as the Ford Cortina Lotus, was built using a Cortina bodyshell, with Lotus development, mechanicals, and branding. The Lotus Cortina was fitted with Lotus' twin cam 1.6L inline four engine, and featured heavily reworked suspension as well as lightened body and door panels. The Lotus Cortina was built in two generations: Mk1 (1963-1966) and Mk2 (1967-1970).
