The Lotus Cortina Mk1 was the first generation of the Lotus Cortina. Created as a collaboration between Ford and Lotus, the Mk1 Cortina was a series of performance sedans featuring extensive tuning and modification by Lotus. The Lotus Cortina was also fitted with Lotus' twin cam 1.6L inline four engine. The Lotus Cortina Mk1 was in production until 1966 when it was replaced by the second generation Lotus Cortina Mk2.
