The second generation Lincoln Town Car was introduced for the 1990 model year. The second generation Town Car was available exclusively as a sedan, but it was often converted into an executive limousine. For the first year of production, the second generation Town Car was fitted with a 4.9L V8 engine, but for the rest of its run, the model was fitted with a 4.6L V8 engine. The second generation Town car was built until 1997 and was replaced by the Third Generation Lincoln Town Car.
