The fourth generation of Land Rover Discovery was introduced for 2010. Known as the Discovery 4, the fourth gen Discovery was sold as the LR4 in North America and the Middle East. The Discovery 4 was an evolution of the previous Discovery 3, using the same monocoque on frame build technique. The Discovery 4 was offered with a range of V6 and V8 gas engines, as well as a turbocharged diesel V6 option. Production of the Discovery 4 ended in 2016, and the generation was replaced by the Land Rover Discovery 5.
