The Jensen Interceptor Liftback was the main variant of the Mk III Interceptor introduced for the 1971 model year. The Interceptor liftback was powered by a Chrysler-sourced 7.2L V8 engine running the rear wheels through manual or automatic transmissions. Production of the Interceptor Liftback Mk III lasted until 1977 even though the Jensen Company was already placed into receivership due to the then world-wide recession, and to problems with its Jensen-Healey sports car.
