The  C101 was released for the 1967 model year as the first generation of the Jeep Commando. With a 101" wheelbase it was designed to compete with the International Scout, Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 and Ford Bronco. A four wheel-drive car, it was powered by 2 different engines, a F-head 'Hurricane' 2.2L I4 engine which produced 75hp and 114 ft-lb f of torque or a 3.7L V6 engine which produced 160hp and 235 ft-lb. The 1st Gen Jeep Commando C101 ended production in 1971 when it was replaced by the C104.
