The Jaguar XKR was a performance-focused variant of the 2nd Gen XK that was introduced for the 2007 model year. Available as a coupe or convertible, the 2nd Gen XKR was initially powered by a supercharged 4.2L V8, but for the 2009 model year, a larger and more powerful supercharged 5.0L V8 was fitted. These engines were paired to an automatic transmission sending drive to the rear wheels. In addition to the powerful engines, the XKR benefitted from various improvements over the standard model such as upgraded suspension, brakes, and aerodynamics. Production of the 2nd Gen Jaguar XKR ended in 2014, but many late production examples were registered as 2015 cars.
