The third generation of Honda Integra was introduced for the 1994 model year. The 3rd Gen Honda Integra (which was sold as the Acura Integra in North America) was offered in a liftback coupe or sedan body style. Initially, all 3rd Gen Integras featured a quad-headlight design, but the design proved unpopular in Japan, leading to Japanese market cars being given redesigned front-end styling from the 1996 model year on. These cars were powered by a selection of inline four engines, ranging from 1.6L to 1.8L in displacement. These engines were paired to manual or automatic transmissions, with the majority of vehicles sending drive to the front wheels. Notably, the 3rd Gen Integra was the only generation to feature optional all wheel drive. In addition to variants such as the Si and SiR, the 3rd Gen Integra saw the introduction of the famed Type R. Production of the 3rd Gen Honda Integra lasted until 2001, when the 4th Gen Honda Integra was introduced.
