The GMC Yukon was first introduced for the 1992 model year. The Yukon was first available as a two door SUV, but in 1996, when the Chevrolet Tahoe was introduced, a four door version became available. The first generation Yukon was built on the GMT400 platform, and was offered with a selection of V8 engines. In 2000, the last year of the first generation, GMC introduced the luxury Denali trim, which also featured redesigned front styling. The first generation Yukon was replaced by the Second Generation GMC Yukon.
