The second generation of GMC Jimmy was introduced for the 1973 model year. The second generation GMC Jimmy was an upmarket version of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer, and featured a selection of inline six and V8 engines as well as a diesel option. Until 1975, the Jimmy was offered with a full removable hardtop, but from 1976 onward, a half-cab configuration was used. Production of the second generation Jimmy lasted all the way until 1991, when it was replaced by the GMC Yukon.
