The Ford Mustang 'Shelby GT' was an entry level variant of the S-197 I Shelby Mustang's that debuted for the 2007 model year. The Shelby GT was available as a coupe or convertible, and featured a 4.6L naturally aspirated V8 engine that sent drive to the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual or 5 speed automatic transmission. Production of the S-197 I Shelby Mustang GT was short lived, with the final examples built in 2008.
