The ROUSH 427R package introduced in 2007 was based on the Stage 3 package and included all of its suspension, handling and performance modifications. It lacked the rear fascia and rectangular exhaust tips that were deemed excessive by some enthusiasts. An upgraded ECM (electronic control module) in the 427R generated 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque from the 4.6L V8 and made it more powerful than the previous Stage 3. Instead of the traditional racing stripes, the 427R was identified by a “hockey stick stripe” appearance package.
