The entry level or base model Ford Mustang for the SN-99 generation was offered between the 1999 and 2004 model years. It was available in both coupe and convertible body styles, and was initally equipped with a 3.8L V6, capable of 150hp, driving the rear wheels via manual or automatic transmission options. For the final year of production (2004), displacement would increase to 3.9L and horsepower would increase to 190hp, paving the way for the 5th Generation Mustang introduced in 2005.
