Steve Saleen's treatment of the SN-95 4th Generation Mustang, based on the Mustang GT produced between 1994 and 1998, came in two main versions. The subdued S-281 and the sublime S-351. Exterior modifications such as a body kit were the major updates to the Mustang GT-based S-281 as it produced 220hp from its 4.6L V8. Other variants include the S-281 Cobra (based on the SVT Cobra) and the one year only (1998) Saleen Mustang SA-15, first of the S281 series to feature a supercharger. The S-351, however, was a different story. The top version of the car had a new engine, a supercharged 5.8L V8 producing 487hp and no back seat. The S-351 had a much heftier cost to the customer at around $50,000 in 1995. These variants would evolve in 1999 as the Saleen Mustang SN-99.
