The Ford Mustang LX was a variant of the 1987-1993 Third Generation Mustang that featured unique styling and performance options. This updated version of the LX replaced the "Quad-Headlight" LX and was available in Hatchback (a/k/a fastback), Coupe (a/k/a notchback), and Convertible. The Mustang GT held an MSRP that was approximately $2k more than the LX. There were subtle differences in the LX interior design, like upholstery, seat design, and dash controls. The LX was available with either a 2.3L inline four or a 5.0L (302ci) V8 that featured electronic fuel injection. A five-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential sent power to the rear wheels. Notable trims include the 1990 7-Up Edition, the 1992 Summer Edition, and the 1993 Feature Edition. The Third Generation Mustang LX ended production with the introduction of the Fourth Generation Mustang in 1994.
