The sixth generation of the Ford Fiesta was introduced for the 2009 model year. Known as the Mk6, this generation of Fiesta was initially available in various worldwide markets, but only arrived in North America for the 2011 model year. These cars were built in both hatchback and sedan body styles, with the hatchback offering the choice of 2 or 4 doors. The most notable variant offered was the sporty ST, which was available alongside various Standard Variants. Production of the Mk6 Fiesta ended in most worldwide markets in 2017, but it continued to be for sale in North America until 2019. After 2019, North America would no longer sell the Fiesta, and the Mk7 Ford Fiesta would be largely focused on the European market.
