The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was a series of performance trucks introduced for the 2010 model year. The SVT Raptor was based on the Twelfth Generation Ford F-Series, and was created by Ford's SVT (Special Vehicle Team) division to create a highly capable, off-road performance truck. The SVT Raptor was offered in extended and crew cab version, and was initially available with two (5.4L, 6.2L) V8 engines, but the 5.4L unit was only offered for one year, with the 6.2L unit remaining as the sole engine. As well as upgrades to the powertrain, the suspension recieved substantial upgrades, and the exterior featured distinctive features like the Raptor-exclusive 'FORD' front grill. Production of the Ford SVT Raptor lasted until 2014. Ford would introduce a new Raptor for the 2017 model year, without the 'SVT' prefix.
