The Ford F-150 was the main variant for the 10th Gen Ford F-Series. Debuting for the 1997 model year, the F-150 was built in a pickup body style, available in regular cab, extended cab (SuperCab), and crew cab (SuperCrew) layouts with Flareside or Styleside truck beds. These trucks were fitted as standard with a 4.2L V6 engine, with 4.6L and 5.4L V8 engines optional. Automatic transmissions as well as manual gearboxes were offered, as were rear wheel drive or four wheel drive configurations. A range of trim levels were available, with the Standard / XL being the base equivalent, and the XLT, Lariat, and King Ranch trims offering further luxuries. Production of the 10th Gen Ford F-150 wound down in 2003, when it was replaced by the 11th Generation Ford F-Series, but 10th Gen F-150s were built until 2004 under the name F-150 Heritage.
