The Ferrari 456 GT was the first iteration of the 456 front-engined grand tourers to be introduced. Available between 1993 and 1998, it was powered a 5.5 L (5,473.91 cc) V12 rated at 436 hp, delivering drive to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. At the time of its development, it was the most powerful regular production road car ever developed by Ferrari. A total of 1,548 units were produced. Its automatic sibling, the 456 GTA, was introduced a year later. The 456 GT would evolve into the Ferrari 456M GT in 1998.
