The Ducati Supersport was a series of motorcycles offered by Ducati from 1972 to 1983 in its first generation and from 1988 to 2007 in its second. The Ducati Supersport was first introduced inspired by Paul Smart´s finishing first in the Imola 200 race in 1972 and the legendary 750 cc, desmodromic valve 90° V-twin engine (called L-twin by Ducati) used to race. A third iteration of the Supersport was offered in 2017 when Ducati launched the 939 which was powered by a 937cc Testastretta engine. Ducati´s Supersport models and variants ended production in 2019 when the 939 was dropped.
