The first generation Dodge Dakota, produced from 1987 to 1996, was a pioneering mid-size pickup truck. It was available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions, with a range of engine options including V6 and V8 powerplants. The truck was available in several variants aside from the Shelby stroked version. Such variants include the Sport Convertible, Sport, SLT, and LE. The Dakota was also offered in a "Club Cab" configuration.
