Dodge reintroduced the Charger in 2005 for the 2006 model year as the sixth generation. This generation was available only as a four-door sedan. The design was intended to be retro style of the Chargers of the 1960s and 1970s. This generation was available with a V6 and V8 engine options coupled with only automatic transmissions, as well all-wheel drive (AWD) was available. Production of the sixth generation lasted until 2010, when the Seventh Generation Dodge Charger replaced it.
