Starting in 2009, Dodge released the Challenger R/T (Road and Track) as a variant of the 3rd Gen Challenger. The name R/T shares its heritage with previous Challenger models. It sits in the middle of the Challenger variants in terms of options and power, before the Hellcat and Demon. The car is equipped with a 5.7L Hemi engine with a five-speed automatic or Tremec six-speed manual transmission. In 2010, a special edition called the Mopar '10 Challenger R/T was released. Various exterior trim packages (such as the Scat Pack, Richard Petty Edition, etc), widebody additions, and even a rear seat “delete” option have all been available over the years.
