The Daihatsu Hijet is a Microvan or Small Pickup manufactured by Daihatsu for the Japanese Market since 1960, known for its solid performance in a multipurpose environment. It started as a microvan then a Pickup model was launched and all of them were front-engined, rear wheel drive vehicles. There are eleven generations of the Hijet currently in the market but it was after the 7th generation that the Hijet got a powertrain option larger than a 1000cc I3, all the generations before had small engines for a low fuel consumption and low emissions.
