The Base Model Corvette was the standard offering for the C6 Corvette. Debuting for the 2005 model year, the base model was available in a convertible or semi-convertible (often referred to as coupe) body style. These cars were powered by a 6.0L LS2 V8 engine that sent 400hp to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmission. Production of the C6 Corvette Base Model ended in 2013 with the introduction of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
