The fourth generation of Chevrolet Corvette, known as the C4, is a sports car produced by American automobile manufacturer Chevrolet from 1984 to 1996. It was available as a convertible or as a semi-convertible (with a removable targa top), vehicles that are commonly referred to as 'coupe'. The most notable C4 variant was the 375 hp (280 kW) Corvette ZR-1, although other variants included the 35th Anniversary Edition, the 40th Anniversary Edition, the 1995 Indy Pace Car Edition, the Grand Sport, the Collector's Edition, and the standard Base Model. As was common with many Corvettes, the C4 Corvette was commonly used as a Race Car. The last C4 was produced on June 20, 1996, and the model was replaced by the Fifth Generation Chevrolet Corvette (C5).
