The 6th Gen Camaro SS was a performance variant of the 6th gen Camaro. The 6th Generation of the Camaro was not a lage departure from the 5th Gen SS, and described by engineers as more of an evolution of the 5th generation. Starting in 2016 the 6th gen Camaro SS utilized the proven LT1 V8 from the Corvette. 1SS was the entry model and were rated at 455hp the same as the 2SS. The 2SS models sported more luxurious interiors with heads up displays and now featured the chrome SS emblem attached to the headrest of leather seats. Both the 1SS and 2SS featured Brembo 4 piston disc brakes and electronic steering. In addition to the 1SS and 2SS Chevrolet also brought back the 1LE option, which was an upgrade on 1SS models only, starting in 2017. The $6500 (1SS) 1LE option included Recaro seats an upgraded suspension including Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) and was tuned to deliver over 1G of lateral grip. The package also increased stopping power with 2-piece rotors and 6 piston Brembo calipers.
