The second generation Chevrolet Biscayne debuted for the 1961 model year, and was offered in two door sedan, four door sedan, and station wagon body styles. These rear wheel drive cars were the lowest priced full-size offering from Chevrolet, and were fitted with a standard inline six engine, although a wide range of V8 options was available. Production of the third generation continued until 1964, when it was replaced by the Third Generation Chevrolet Biscayne.
