The third generation of Buick Super was introduced for the 1949 model year. The thrid generation of Super saw numerous updates to the chassis and mechanicals, including the addition of three distinctive ports on each side of the hood. This updated Super was available in coupe, convertible, sedan, and station wagon body styles, and was fitted with inline eight or V8 engine options. The third generation Super was in production until 1953 when it was replaced by the Fourth Generation Buick Super.
