The first generation of Buick Electra was introduced for the 1959 model year. The Buick Electra was a series of full size luxury cars offered in two main variants, the standard Electra and larger Electra 225. The first generation Electra was available as a coupe, convertible, or sedan, and was powered by a 6.6L V8 engine. The first generation Electra was in production until 1960 and was replaced by the Second Generation Buick Electra.
