The third generation of BMW X5 was introduced for the 2014 model year. Known as the F15, the third generation was the first time BMW introduced a hybrid inline 4 engine into the X5 range with the X5 xDrive40e. The F15 also featured the X5 M variant, as well as an M-tuned diesel variant, the M50d. Other variants included the sDrive35i, xDrive35i, xDrive40e, xDrive35d, and xDrive50i. Built until 2018, the F15 was replaced by the G05 BMW X5 for the 2019 model year.
